Scope of Services

Overview

Citizens by Descent (CD) provides professional assistance and guidance for individuals and families pursuing Italian citizenship by descent through judicial proceedings. Our role is advisory, coordinative, and administrative. Final determinations rest exclusively with the Italian authorities.

Base Plan — Core Services Included

Unless the Member elects the All-Inclusive Plan, the following services are included in the Base Plan:

• Eligibility Assessment: Review of lineage and documentation to confirm qualification and identify potential legal obstacles.
• Document Strategy & Coordination: Development of a comprehensive plan for required records and supporting documentation.
• Legal Document Preparation: Drafting of petitions, filings, and supporting documentation required for judicial proceedings.
• Secure Platform Access: Online portal for document uploads, progress tracking, and secure communication.
• Professional Guidance: Scheduled consultations and ongoing communication with citizenship specialists.
• Italian Counsel Coordination (Limited): Assistance identifying and engaging appropriate Italian legal counsel.

Base Plan — Costs Not Included

Under the Base Plan, all third-party costs are the responsibility of the Client, including but not limited to:

• Italian legal representation
• Government and court filing fees
• Document retrieval beyond the principal applicant
• Apostilles
• Translations
• Courier, administrative, and third-party professional expenses

Important Note: Italian law requires citizenship by descent cases to be filed by a licensed attorney in Italy. Legal representation in Italy is not included in the Base Plan.

All-Inclusive Plan (Optional Upgrade)

The All-Inclusive Plan is our most comprehensive, concierge-level service, designed for clients who prefer a fully managed experience with minimal personal involvement.

What’s Included

• Everything in the Base Plan, plus complete assumption of all document-related tasks and costs required to complete the case.
• White-Glove Document Retrieval: Procurement of all required U.S. and Italian records on your behalf.
• Apostille Management: End-to-end document authentication under the Hague Convention.
• Court-Certified Italian Translations: Professional translations meeting Italian court standards.
• Italian Government Application Fee (€600): All mandatory government filing fees are included and paid by us.
• Italian Legal Representation: Legal representation by licensed Italian counsel is included and fully managed.
• Italian Birth Record Retrieval: Retrieval of the qualifying Italian-born ancestor’s birth certificate is included.
• End-to-End Case Management: Oversight from document collection through judicial filing, recognition, and post-recognition registration.

Expenses Covered Under the All-Inclusive Plan

Clients enrolled in the All-Inclusive Plan will not be charged separately for:

• The €600 Italian government application fee
• Legal representation in Italy
• Italian birth record retrieval
• Document procurement, apostilles, translations, court filings, and administrative costs

Unless expressly agreed to in writing, no additional third-party costs are passed on to the Client.

Base Plan

Flat Fee: $1,500 (paid upfront)

ll-Inclusive Plan — Generational Pricing

• Parent (1 Generation): $5,000
• Grandparent (2 Generations): $6,000
• Great-Grandparent (3 Generations): $7,000
• Great-Great-Grandparent (4 Generations): $7,500

Payment Options

• Four Equal Installments (0% Interest): Paid over 90 days
• Pay in Full (10% Discount): One payment at enrollment

Fees are due according to the payment schedule in the Client’s customized quote. Failure to remit payment may result in suspension of services.

Money-Back Guarantee

Eligibility

The Money-Back Guarantee is available exclusively to Clients who enroll using the Pay-in-Full (Upfront Payment) option.

Clients who select installment or deferred payment plans are not eligible for the Money-Back Guarantee.

Guarantee Terms

• 100% refund if Italian authorities formally deny the application and the Client elects not to appeal.
• 90% refund if CD conclusively determines ineligibility within 90 days of substantial service commencement.

Exclusions

No refunds will be issued if the Client:

• Withdraws voluntarily
• Provides inaccurate or incomplete information
• Fails to cooperate or causes delays
• Experiences delays or denials outside CD’s control

Refunds are processed only after confirmation of denial or ineligibility and may be reduced by unrecoverable third-party costs already paid on the Client’s behalf.
